The painting, Into the World There Came a Soul Called Ida was painted by Ivan Albright in 1929-1930. Albright gave the painting to the Chicago Art Institute as a gift in 1977. The painting depicts the sadness of a once young and vibrant woman, facing the realities of getting old. Even though she is beautiful in her own way, the sadness on her face and aging body portrays a grim and depressed woman. The painting is a large painting it is almost five feet tall and four feet wide. It is an oil painting on traditional canvass. The color choice is very dark and gloomy. This is all evident in the texture of everything depicted in the painting, but particularly in the detail he paid to Idas skin. The bulging shape of her legs and face depict far more than the effects of aging alone. They show the decay of one’s body that is pre pared to accept death. Albright was so deliberate in his painting, for example he would paint for roughly five hours a day, in that time he would only cover one half of a square inch. Once satisfied he would never return to that spot and make any changes (Hubbard). While everything else in the painting seems to signify death, or doom, the choice of lighting is interesting. FEDEX had the best P/E ratio while the industry average was 32.80, Deutsche Post were ranked in 25th position just above UPS with 19.80 out of around 50 companies. UK Mail group had the best Price to Book ratio, the average being 12.70 with Deutsche Post ranked 22nd. The Forefront group had the best Net Profit margin the average being 3.80. Deutsche Post lagged massively behind with this ratio. UPS had the best return on equity. 21.80% being the average Deutsch Post came in 14th with 17.58%. When one starts reading Wuthering heights I’m sure they think to themselves that the book will be just another romantic novel. They wait for Heathcliff to come around the whole story, and for him and Catherine to end up together, but it doesn’t happen. This causes Heathcliff to get progressively, more and more alienated by the people around him. He only wants what he can’t have and this is why he is referred to as a Byronic Hero. It is my intention to prove Heathcliff as a Byronic Hero by classifying him under the six attributes of the archetype. The first major sign of a Byronic Hero is he is often alienated from humanity. In the beginning of the story Heathcliff is adopted by Earnshaw.
